EXPO

In 2021, C-mine presented Wonderful Things by photographer Tim Walker, in which Tilda Swinton - his muse and creative partner - played a prominent role.
Now, the Scottish actor, artist, writer, and style icon herself is the focus of an exclusive exhibition that highlights her multifaceted artistic practice.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

The exhibition is based on Swinton’s belief that art and film never emerge in isolation. For her, creation is an ongoing dialogue, a process of exchange rooted in trust in which roles blur and ideas take shape collectively. Rather than a muse, Swinton sees herself as a team player: someone who is primarily interested in the creative relationship behind the work.

That is why this exhibition brings together a group of artistic collaborators. Filmmakers Derek Jarman, Joanna Hogg, Luca Guadagnino, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Jim Jarmusch, and Pedro Almodóvar, photographer Tim Walker, and fashion historian/curator Olivier Saillard are all part of this network of voices and images.

Together, they demonstrate how cinema is not only a place for storytelling, but also a space for experimentation, reflection, mourning, and protest—a place where artists find, challenge, and inspire one another. This exhibition is therefore not a traditional retrospective, but a moment of gathering and celebration: an invitation to view creation as a collective practice.

The exhibition was developed by Eye Filmmuseum Amsterdam.
